North Devon MP Opens Refurbished J+S Offices

North Devon MP Sir Nick Harvey visited Barnstaple based engineering firm J+S Ltd on April 26th and cut the ribbon to open their newly refurbished offices and reception area.

The reception area has been expanded significantly in order that the company can permanently exhibit their increasing product range in support of their Naval, Oil & Gas and Marine Renewable Energy businesses.

The first floor office area has been completely revamped to provide light modern engineering offices alongside new Board and Meeting rooms – No mean feat considering the building was originally designed nearly fifty years ago!

As David Jeffries, Executive Chairman commented:

“Over the last twelve months we have invested over £1.4m in our business with major investments in our communications and business systems together with this £0.6m investment in the first phase of our Barnstaple site refurbishment programme.

Over the next few months we will complete the redesign of the ground floor with new manufacturing, engineering and repair facilities.

With these investments we are laying firm foundations for the next period of growth for J+S”

Nick Harvey commented:

“I was delighted to conduct the ‘official’ opening of J+S Ltd’s impressive phase one refurbishment.

It is very encouraging to see a well established local company so confidently investing in its future and its staff.

Likewise it was great to see that R&D is progressing across their range of products especially in the field of renewable energy, where they are clearly market pioneers.”
