Commander of Sri Lanka Navy Welcomes Chief of Defence Staff
The newly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff, General Jagath Jayasuriya paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 05th August 2013.
He was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival and warmly received by the Commander of the Navy. Thereafter, he was introduced to the Director Generals of the Navy, who conveyed their best wishes to the new CDS on his assumption of duties in the highly elevated military office. The CDS and the Navy Commander held a brief discussion on matters related to national defence in a cordial atmosphere. Mementos were also exchanged between them to mark the occasion.
