Sri Lanka Navy Assists in Salvage of Indian Fishing Trawler
SL NAVY TAKES PART IN SALVAGE OF INDIAN FISHING TRAWLER

The Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to an Indian Salvage Team, comprising three boats and a 14-member crew that had come to salvage a fishing trawler, which had run aground south of Delft.

 
The trawler ran aground on October 3, 2013 due to an engine defect during rough sea conditions. The crew of the fishing trawler was repatriated on 19th November 2013.

The salvaged fishing trawler was handed over to Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Rajtarang’ at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Delft on 16th February 2014 by Sri Lanka Naval Ship ‘Prathapa’, attached to the Northern Naval Command.
