USS Nimitz Hosts Change of Homeport Fair
The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) hosted a change of homeport fair at Naval Station Everett, Washington, Aug. 8 to showcase the programs and facilities available to transitioning families.
Nimitz is scheduled to change homeports from Naval Station Everett to Naval Base Kitsap (NBK) in Bremerton, Washington, where Nimitz will undergo a planned incremental availability. While there, the ship will receive many needed repairs.
The fair armed Nimitz Sailors with relevant information and resources to help them have a smooth transition.
Nimitz plans to make a transition this winter.
