In the final days of exercise of KAKADU, Commodore Peter Leavy, Commodore Warfare, visited a number of coalition ships before embarking on PNS Saif, 9 September 2014.
Commodore Levy was greeted by Commodore Zahid Ilyas, Mission Commander of Pakistani Ships and Captain Jawad Ahmed, Commanding Officer PNS Saif.
Commodore Leavy discussed the nature of the international relationship.
KAKADU has exercised anti-submarine warfare, air defence and surface warfare, including gunnery serials and seamanship evolutions.
The exercise has welcomed participants from a range of nations including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Japan, The Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, Thailand, Tonga, Philippines and Singapore.
KAKADU is the RAN’s largest maritime warfare exercise for the year, occurring in and off the coast of Darwin, from the 25 August to 12 September 2014.
