US Navy’s Jets Crash Into the Western Pacific Ocean

Two US Navy combat jets crashed into the western Pacific Ocean on Friday, according to Reuters.

 

The F/A-18 Hornets were part of the US 7th Fleet’s Carrier Air Wing 17 embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.

One pilot was found and received medical treatment, and search was underway for the missing pilot.

Reuters cited officials as saying that “the cause of the incident is under investigation.”

Other aircraft that were in the vicinity at the time of the incident were safely recovered.
