USS Mount Whitney Shares Knowledge with Georgian Coast Guard

Sailors and Civil Service Mariners (CIVMARS) stationed aboard the U.S. 6th Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) engaged with members of the Georgian Coast Guard and local emergency personnel on October 15.

The engagement consisted of demonstrating techniques in order to familiarize Georgian Coast Guard personnel with anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP), damage control, first aid, tactical signals, and emergency action procedures.

“The techniques and tactics we’re sharing will be vital for saving lives and enhancing our damage control skills. I enjoy sharing knowledge with our counterparts since we are both working toward the same goal of serving our countries and contributing to the mission at hand,” said Chief Machinist Mate Jonathon Sarmiento.
