Authorities

The Spanish Navy’s frigate Almirante Juan de Borbón (F-102) returned to Ferrol after finishing its deployment in Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2).

During this deployment the F-102, commanded by Commander Fernando Rosety Fernandez de Castro, participated in Operation ‘Active Endeavour’ fighting terrorism in the Mediterranean Sea and it took part in multinational exercises Sea Breeze, Noble Mariner and Mavi Balina.

The vessel departed its home base on August 28 and was part of the group for nearly four months. It has sailed more than 20,000 nautical miles during 90 days at sea, docked at seven different ports and made seven fuel supplies at sea.

The entry into Ferrol puts an end to Almirante Juan de Borbón’s deployment in the Mediterranean and Black Sea.
