The exercise, which was conducted in the Pacific Ocean, is designed to certify select U.S. ships as independent deployers as tasked by Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet.

USS Preble (DDG-88) is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and the sixth U.S. Navy ship named for Commodore Edward Preble (1761–1807).
