US Navy’s San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17) arrived in Gdynia, Poland, for a scheduled port visit, June 6, 2015.

San Antonio’s visit to Gdynia is in preparation for the at-sea phase of Exercise BALTOPS 2015, allowing time for the crew to attend pre-sail meetings and meet with other NATO allies and partners. It will also provide time for Sailors to explore the Polish port before the ship proceeds to sea.

Seventeen NATO and partner nations will participate in the 43rd iteration of BALTOPS in Poland, Sweden, Germany, and throughout the Baltic Sea, June 5-20.

The port visit to Gdynia demonstrates the shared commitment the U.S. has toward promoting safety and stability within the region, while seeking opportunities to enhance interoperability with its NATO allies and partners.
