USS Jason Dunham Leaves Riga, Latvia

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) departed Riga, Latvia after a three-day scheduled port visit, July 15, 2015.

The vessel participated in a series of drills at sea with the Latvian Navy patrol crafts Jelgava (P-08) and Rēzekne (P-09) prior to arriving in port, July 12.

Latvian Navy Chief of Staff, Cmdr. Senior Grade Valdis Stanka, and a delegation from the U.S. Embassy to Latvia, led by Chargé d’Affaires, Sharon Hudson-Dean, embarked the ship prior to entering port, providing an opportunity for Dunham to showcase its capabilities.

USS Jason Dunham, homeported in Norfolk, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe. The ship deployed from Naval Station Norfolk, Jan. 27.
