Italy Takes Command of EUROMARFOR

The Change of Command ceremony of the European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) took place aboard the Italian Navy ship Giuseppe Garibaldi on Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Docked at Taranto Naval Base, the ship Giuseppe Garibaldi was the platform for the commander of the Spanish Navy fleet (Almirante de la Flota) Admiral Francisco Javier Franco Suanzes to hand over the duty to the Commander of the Italian Navy fleet, Admiral Filippo Maria Foffi.

The ceremony, presided over by the Chief of Defense, General Claudio Graziano, was also attended by military representatives from EUROMARFOR countries and authorities from the civil society.
