Germany’s FGS Bayern to Change Command

The German Navy’s frigate Bayern will soon change command in a ceremony to be held on October 1, 2015.

During the event Commander Frank Fähnrich will transfer his duties to commander Markus Brüggemeier aboard the frigate.

Fähnrich served as the Commander of FGS Bayern since April 2014.

His successor, Commander Brüggemeier, has already been an executive officer of frigate Köln in Wilhelmshaven. He is currently deployed to the armed forces in Bonn as assistant squad leader of the International Cooperation squadron.
