HMS Daring Says Goodbye to Guernsey

Authorities

Royal Navy’s HMS Daring (D32) has departed the Channel Islands following a port visit to her affiliated island of Guernsey.

The visit marked the first time in over four years that Daring had visited Guernsey and included a busy programme including a Reception Capability Demonstration and Ship’s tours for local cadets.

Nine members of the Ship’s Company cycled 70 miles around the Island (2.5 laps) to commemorate the 70 year anniversary of Guernsey’s liberation and in doing so raised money for the local charity Headway Guernsey.

HMS Daring, the first Type 45, is 151 metres long, weighs 8000 tonnes and is equipped with the latest in Air Warfare technology.
