China’s People Liberation Army Navy ships are joined by ships from U.S. Navy’s Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 26 group for a PASSEX off the coast of Florida, November 7.
Pictured are the Chinese Luyang II-class guided missile destroyer Jinan (DDG 152), top, the Jiangkai-class frigate Yiyang (FFG 548), the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87), center, the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) and the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55), bottom.
The three vessels are on an around-the-world deployment and the port call marked the first time a Chinese Navy ship has visited the east coast of the United States. During the visit, PLA(N) sailors toured USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) and USS Vicksburg (CG 69) and took part in Morale, Welfare and Recreation tours.
