Report: Egypt Navy finds EgyptAir wreck

Members of the Egyptian Navy have managed to find remains of an EgyptAir plane which crashed over the Mediterranean Sea while it was flying from Paris to Cairo.

A navy search for the plane’s black box found personal belongings of passengers and other debris 290 km north of the Egyptian city of Alexandria, Reuters reported Egyptian officials saying.

EgyptAir also confirmed that Egyptian Armed Forces found first debris from the missing aircraft.

To remind, flight MS804, Airbus A320, lost contact with radar on Wednesday, May 18, above the Mediterranean Sea about 295 km from the Egyptian sea coast.

According to EgyptAir, the aircraft was carrying 56 passengers, including one child and two infants, and 10 crew.

Greek, French and U.S. military units were involved in the search for the crashed plane.

Debris from MS804 found by Egyptian military

The Egyptian Armed Forces have informed EGYPTAIR that they have found first debris from the missing aircraft operating flight MS804 around 295 KM from the Egyptian coastline. MS804 lost contact with radar above the Mediterranean Sea about 295 KM from the Egyptian sea coast at 02:30 am CLT on 19 May. It was due to arrive Cairo Airport at 03:15 am CLT.

The search in the area continues and further updates will be issued on www.egyptair.com and in our social media channels as more information becomes available.
