Italian Coast Guard buys VideoRay ROVs for operations

American underwater ROV manufacturer VideoRay announced that it has delivered VideoRay Pro 4 ROVs to the Italian Coast Guard, along with sonars and accessories.

ROVs will be used for underwater police tasks, search and recovery, archeological monitoring, environmental surveys, and other tasks.

VideoRay said the focus focus would be on search and recovery operations, potentially dangerous tasks for which the Italian Coast Guard is frequently called upon.

iROV Underwater Services of Treviso represented VideoRay in the €200,000 worth contract for ROVs and related equipment.

The company’s ROVs are used in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Norwegian Coast Guard, Saudi Border Guard, Taiwan Coast Guard, Korean Navy and the Dutch Navy, among others.
