New US Navy training jet crash

A U.S. Navy T-45C Goshawk training jet aircraft crashed during a training flight in Missippi, within a month of another Goshawk crash in Texas.

Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Mississippi reported a T-45C Goshawk jet aircraft assigned to Training Air Wing 1 crashed Wednesday at approximately 1:15 p.m. while conducting a training flight.

The Navy said the student and instructor pilot were able to eject safely near the airfield aboard NAS Meridian.

NAS first responders have been dispatched to the scene of the mishap and both pilots were subsequently taken to a local medical facility for evaluation.

A T-45C crashed in Texas on August 14, also with no injuries to pilots.

The T-45 Goshawk was manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and is in use by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer.
