Royal Australian Navy frigate deploys to South East Asia

Royal Australian Navy’s Anzac-class frigate HMAS Ballarat departed Western Australia on April 3 kicking off a deployment to the South East Asia.

Upgraded with anti-ship missile defense, the frigate departed navy base HMAS Stirling under the command of Commander David Landon.

During her time in South East Asia, Ballarat will promote the Australian Defence Force and further strengthen international relations within the area.

According to the Royal Australian Navy, the crew is scheduled to take part in international exercises such as Bersama Shield, AUSTHAI, the International Maritime Defence Expo and International Maritime Review.

HMAS Ballarat is set to conclude her deployment with the biennial Talisman Sabre drill which is jointly organized by the U.S. and Australia.
