After delivering a mobile hospital to Timor Leste and concluding visits to Jakarta and Micronesia, two Royal Australian Navy ships made a stop in Malaysia on their Indo-Pacific deployment.
Landing helicopter dock HMAS Adelaide and frigate HMAS Parramatta, both part of the Royal Australian Navy’s mission Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2017, arrived in Malaysia for a four day stop.
Prior to arriving in Malaysia, Adelaide flexed its humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) assets by delivering a mobile hospital to Timor-Leste during a multi-national HADR exercise.
During her evolution in Timor Leste, HMAS Adelaide was accompanied by frigate HMAS Adelaide and is now continuing the deployment in company of HMAS Parramatta. At various stages of the deployment, Adelaide will be joined by HMAS Melbourne, HMAS Darwin, HMAS Toowoomba, HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Sirius.
HMAS Parramatta arrived in Malaysia after visiting the Federated States of Micronesia where commanding officer, Commander Simon Howard hosted a luncheon for a number of officials and local dignitaries, including the Lieutenant Governor of the State of Yap James Yangetmai.
