US Navy says training aircraft missing after jet crash report

The US Navy said on October 1 it was looking into reports of a jet crash in Tennessee as one its training aircraft did not return to base.

The service said that a T-45 Goshawk aircraft, carrying a student and an instructor, had not returned to base by the time it received reports of the jet crash near Tellico Plains in Tennessee.

At the time of the crash, Training Air Wing ONE, based at Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Miss., had a T-45C Goshawk training in the vicinity of Tellico Plains.

An investigation into the incident is still underway.
