Curtiss-Wright nets $220M deal to work on US subs and aircraft carriers

Curtiss-Wright Corporation has been awarded contracts valued in excess of $220 million to provide propulsion valves, pumps and advanced instrumentation and control systems for the US Navy’s submarines and aircraft carriers.

As informed, the company will provide the parts for Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, Columbia-class submarine and Ford-class aircraft carrier programs.

The awards were received from Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) and General Dynamics Electric Boat to support ship construction, spare parts and submarine back-fit procurements.

Bamford, Chair and CEO of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. 

In April this year, the US-based supplier of electronics products received a contract to provide modular open system approach (MOSA) computers and digital processing modules for use in the US Navy’s torpedo upgrade programs.

The products will be used specifically for MK54 and MK48 torpedo upgrade programs. The contract has an estimated lifetime value of $70 million.
