BF Destroyer Nastoichivy Celebrates 19-th Anniversary

Baltic Fleet (BF) destroyer Nastoichivy headed by Capt 1 rank Andrei Naboka celebrated 19-th anniversary of the ensign-hoisting day.

Festive activity associated with the Ship’s Day started with the crew parade, hoisting of St. Andrew’s ensign and dressing flags. Then the commendation order of the ship’s commanding officer was read.

Destroyer Nastoichivy joined Russian Navy in 1993 and few months later she became the first Russian warship passed the Kiel Canal.

The ship many times won in firing and tactics at Russian Navy’s competitions. In 1996 and 1997 Nastoichivy was recognized the best surface ship in the Navy.

In July 1996, the ship participated in the BALTOPS-96 joint naval exercise. In Feb-Apr 1997 Nastoichivy carried out long-range cruise, having covered about 20,000 miles.

The destroyer represented Russia at the 75-th anniversary of South African Navy in Capetown and Simon’s Town.

Through her service in the Baltic Fleet, Nastoichivy has covered over 70,000 nautical miles spending about two years at sea.

Presently, technical recovery works on the ship are almost finished, and then Nastoichivy will take the sea for combat training purposes.
