Azeri, Maltese Armed Forces Visit Italian San Marco Brigade

During the last week of October two delegations respectively from the Azeri and Maltese armed forces visited the Italian Navy San Marco Brigade.

According to the programme, the two delegations were offered practical demonstrations of training modules, such as virtual polygon, fast rope descent from the daredevils tower, climbing on an artificial cliff and personal defence; then paid a visit to the exhibitions held at the armoury, the landing craft, and the motorized corps of the Brigade.

After the visit, the delegations could watch the 1st and 2nd Regiment training activities which included a simulated attack to the coast with an AAV-7 (Assault Amphibious Vehicle) and RIB (Rigid-Inflatable Boat); activities with an LMV (Light Multirole Vehicle), and target shooting during boarding operations on suspect vessels.

At the end, the delegations met the commanding officer of Battaglione Scuole Caorle, to consider the possibility to start a shared training programme with the Italian Brigade in order to improve their operational skills.
