As informed, the vessels will be of type OCEA FPB 110 MKII. This contract, valued at €406.4 million, is part of the intergovernmental agreement between the Philippines and France signed in 2024.

These fast patrol boats are destined for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), to which OCEA has already delivered five vessels between 2017 and 2020.

The ships developed by OCEA have a length of 35.00 meters and are operated by a crew of 17. They are capable of reaching speeds between 28 and 35 knots. At a cruising speed of 12 knots, the vessels have a range of 700 nautical miles.

The vessels are designed for a variety of maritime missions. They are used for territorial and deep-sea surveillance operations. Furthermore, they play a key role in combating smuggling and illegal immigration.

The ships are equipped to control and monitor vessels at sea and are capable of conducting search and rescue operations. Additionally, they contribute to the protection of natural resources and support the development of the blue economy.

In recent months, the PCG reaffirmed its confidence by signing with OCEA a 5-year renewal of the maintenance contract for its four FPB 72 (24 meter), followed by a renewed contract for the Gabriela Silang.
