USA: Navy Drill to Simulate Fighter Jet Crash at Fentress Naval Auxiliary Landing Field

Equipment & technology

The Navy will simulate a fighter jet crash at Fentress Naval Auxiliary Landing Field in Chesapeake on Wednesday morning to practice responding to such a disaster.

While the drill will take place on Fentress grounds, emergency crews from the city of Chesapeake will be involved. Nearby residents shouldn’t be alarmed, Navy officials said.

The drill is meant to improve the Navy’s ability to coordinate with the city to deal with a jet crash, the Navy said.
