Russian Defense Mminister Visits Baltic Fleet
Russian defense minister Anatoly Serdiukov visited Baltic Fleet (BF). The minister held a meeting with the fleet’s commanding staff in Kaliningrad.
Among discussed issues was improvement of administrative system, organization of combat training process, equipping with up-to-date armaments, manning with contracted servicemen, and development of military education.
Anatoly Serdiukov talked with BF officers about effectiveness of arms maintenance and social services provided by outside organizations.
The minister settled upon the social welfare measures taken by the government and military authorities. In Jan 2012, a new monetary allowance system was accepted; most of accommodation problems have been settled as well.
Along with that, Anatoly Serdiukov said qualification requirements to military servicemen would be considerably upgraded.
