Ships of Russian Baltic Fleet to Take Part in DANEX-2012

Ships of Russian Baltic Fleet (BF) will take part in the DANEX-2012 joint exercise in Sept 2012. Russian Navy Main HQ started preparation of formal documents, a spokesman for the Navy told Central Navy Portal.

The exercise planning conference will be held in March 13-16 in Jonstrup, Denmark. Russian delegation will be headed by BF Chief of Training Department Capt 1 rank Sergei Volkov.

DANEX-2012 exercise will be conducted in Sept 1-12, 2012 and will be attended by naval assets of Russia (Baltic Fleet), Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Germany etc (totally, 20 participants).

According to Russian Navy command, concept of the DANEX-2012 will help to achieve appropriate mutual understanding and practice international cooperation at sea.

As is planned by defense ministry, in 2012 Russian Navy will continue executing diplomatic functions by means of practical activities like international naval exercises. Russian warships will call at over 40 foreign ports in 2012.
