Navy Life Saving Team Saves Teenagers from Drowning at Sea

The timely action taken by the Navy Life Saving Team from SLNS Vijaya, Kalpitiya of the North-western Naval Command saved the lives of 04 male persons in their teens, who were drowning in the seas off Thalawila on 08th March 2012.

The incident occurred around 03.30 pm and one of the rescued was rushed to the General Hospital in Puttlam for further medical treatment on completion of emergency medical assistance given by SLN medical personnel.

As part of its social responsibility, Sri Lanka Navy provides assistance to the Thalawila Church Festival. SLN life saving teams and medical personnel are stationed throughout to render assistance to the General Public.
