Sri Lanka Navy Recovers Haul of Grenades, Amunitions Dumped in Lagoon

Naval troops attached to SLNS Welusumana of the Northern Naval Command recovered a haul of grenades and ammunitions dumped in the lagoon on 21st July 2012.

The full list of the recovered items is as follows:

1. RPGs – 37 nos.
2. 40mm GL Grenades – 55 nos.
3. Claymore Mines – 04 nos.
4. 81mm Grenades – 04 nos.
5. 60mm Grenades – 55 nos.
6 60mm Cartridges – 02 nos.
7 MPMG Ammunitions – 650 nos.
8. 12.7mm Ammunitions – 309 nos.
