Navy Fest Starts at Indian Naval Base Kochi

Navy Fest, the annual fair associated with Navy Day celebrations began at the Naval Base Kochi on 13 Dec 12, with the formal inauguration by Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command.

The fair which concluded on 16th December, was open for visitors from 10 AM to 9 PM every day. INS Sahyadri, Navy’s latest stealth frigate, INS Sharda, INS Sujata and INS Nireekshak will received the visitors from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Visitors were also be able to see navy aircraft at close quarters at the Naval Air Station. The main attraction was the stalls put up by various Naval units displaying various Naval themes which were both informative and exciting. Further, the fully air-conditioned main exhibition hall had 90 stalls. There were several food stalls which catered to different tastes as well as games and entertainment stalls. The Military Photo Exhibition under the auspices of Ernakulam Press Club was a major crowd puller. Entertainment programmes were scheduled for all days of the fair to enliven the spirits of the visitors. The Navy Fest was organized by INS Venduruthy.
