Sri Lanka Navy Assists in Repatriation of 21 Fishermen

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of 21 Sri Lankan fishermen along with 4 fishing boats on 27th February 2013.

The fishermen with their fishing trawlers named “Anusha”, “Aseen Budha”, “Nimasha” and “Anishka” were taken over from the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajkamal” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurai by Sri Lanka Naval Vessel P 483 attached to the Northern Naval Command and Sri Lanka Coast Guard vessel CG 43.

Repatriation of Sri Lankan fishermen and their boats comes as a direct result of the collaborative efforts made by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy and the Indian officials.
