Philippine Coastguard Rescues Two Run-Away Workers from Sabah

Two passengers onboard an unidentified banca were rescued by a Coast Guard vessel while conducting maritime patrol at the borderline of Sabah, Malaysia on March 11, 2013 at 8:45 AM.

Investigation revealed that  BRP Edsa II (SARV-002) sighted an outriggered boat described to be painted with blue and yellow stripes and marked with “Love Story” on its hull. The vessel was below 3GT with two persons onboard when it was found by CG personnel conducting maritime patrol operation at vicinity 8.4 NM off Omapui Island, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.
They were reportedly working in a palm oil refinery in Hanablas, Sabah, Malaysia  without any pertinent document and subsequently escaped  due to tension escalating in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
