STEEL CUTTING CEREMONY AT KARACHI SHIPYARD

A steel cutting ceremony of the Pakistani Navy’s 12-ton Bollard Pull Pusher Tug was held at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) on January 20th.

 

High-ranking officials from the Pakistani Navy, government authorities and the Karachi Shipyard representatives attended the ceremony.

The 16.89-meter long tugs can pull 60 tons and they are essential for a port’s functions. They are multipurpose and responsible to provide services such as pollution combating, salvage, escorting, push-pull, towing and localized firefighting.

KS&EW is currently working on 5 shipbuilding projects those being 17000 Tons Fleet Tanker, two Fast Attack Missile Craft, one 32 tons bollard pull Tug (which is ready for delivery) and twenty two (22) bridge erection boats.
