Italian, Ghana Navies Plan Joint Maritime Training

The Italian and Ghana navies are scheduled to hold a joint maritime training from March 5-10, 2014, according to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

 

The Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Laura Carpini, announced the holding of the exercise amid her visit to Vice Admiral Mathew Quarshie, the Chief of Defence Staff at Burma Camp, a statement of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) read.

The Italian Task Group, which comprises four ships named ITS Cavour, ITS Bergamini, ITS Etna and ITS Borsini will engage in a medical outreach program for the children as well.

GAF will do everything possible to ensure the success of the exercise, Vice Admiral Quarshie said in a statement.
