Sweden Ends Submarine Hunt

Authorities

Sweden has decided to end the search for the mysterious submarine in Stockholm archipelago, BBC News writes.

The hunt for the submarine, which included naval vessels and planes and lasted for a week, is considered to be Sweden’s biggest military mobilisation since the Cold War.

Although the submarine could not be identified, there were some suspicions that it could have been from the Russian Navy.

BBC News quoted a statement from the military saying that all vessels involved in the search, except some smaller units, have returned to Stockholm.
