Russian Navy Subs Launch Torpedoes

Crews of nuclear and diesel-electric submarines of the Northern Fleet have performed eight underwater torpedo launches yesterday, September 29.

The nuclear submarine Nizhny Novgorod and the diesel-electric Magnitogorsk conducted torpedo launches at imaginary enemy ships within the final inspection for the summer training period.

Each submarine was to come up to the imaginary enemy stealthily and attack the ship formations with four torpedoes.

The imaginary enemy ships were imitated by the Admiral Ushakov destroyer, the Vice Admiral Kulakov major landing ship, the small-sized missile ships Iceberg and Rassvet, the small-sized ASW ships Yunga and Snezhnogorsk as well as auxiliary vessels Manych and Vyazma.
