Iranian Navy Ships Visit Russia

A group of Iranian Navy ships arrived at the base of the Russian Navy’s Caspian flotilla, the port of Astrakhan, Oct 21.

The Damavand destroyer and two missile destroyer ships Paykan and Jushan were met by the Russian corvette Makhachkala of the Caspian flotilla, which escorted them to the quay of Astrakhan.

The Iranian sailors were met by representatives of the Caspian flotilla Command and the administration of the Astrakhan region.

During the visit, representatives of the naval military delegation of Iran will visit the Museum of military glory and the Astrakhan Kremlin, as well as go aboard the corvette Makhachkala.

This is the second time in three years the Iranian Navy is visiting the Caspian flotilla. The previous visit took place in June 2013.

Iranian vessels are scheduled to depart Astrakhan on October 24, 2015.
