Russian warships in Shanghai, China

Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet ship formation led by the destroyer Bystry visited the port of Shanghai within the combat task performance in the Pacific Ocean on January 17.

The other two ships in the formation are the oil tanker Boris Butoma, and the rescue vessel Altai. All three are commanded by Rear Admiral Yuldashev Aleksandr Yurevich.

The official delegation of the Pacific Fleet led by the Commander of the ship detachment Rear Admiral Alexander Yuldashev held a protocol meeting with representatives of the East Sea Fleet Command of the People’s Liberation Army Navy on January 18.

On the same day, the Bistry destroyer was visited by the leadership of the military naval district Usun. In their turn, the Russian seamen went on board a ship of the Chinese Navy.

The port visit is scheduled to finish on January 21. The detachment will then head to the Russian Pacific port city Vladivostok said the Russian Navy.

Prior to docking at the port of Shanghai, the three ships visited Danang, Vietnam on January 7, and Jakarta, Indonesia on December 28, 2015.
