BHIC wins deal for upkeep of Royal Malaysian Navy submarine facilities

Malaysian shipbuilder Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad (BHIC) has been contracted to ensure the upkeep of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s submarine facilities.

On 21 April 2021, BHIC Submarine Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (BSES), a subsidiary of BHIC, received a contract from the Ministry of Defence Malaysia for the maintenance of the facilities.

The deal is worth RM78,141,440.00 (around $19 million) and will cover a period of two years.

A formal contract between the Government of Malaysia and BSES will be finalised and executed at a later date, BHIC said.

Part of Boustead Holdings, BHIC specializes in naval and commercial shipbuilding as well as ship-related services.
