USA: SAIC Secures FORSCOM Contract

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC)  announced today it was awarded a follow-on contract by the Department of the Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command Center, Fort McPherson, Georgia to support the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) by providing planning, modeling, simulation and training services and solutions to the Army and the Department of Defense (DoD).

The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a performance period consisting of a one year base period and four one-year option periods with a total contract ceiling value of $2.5 billion.

FORSCOM trains, mobilizes, deploys, sustains, transforms and reconstitutes conventional forces, providing land power to Combatant Commanders worldwide. Under the contract, the SAIC team will continue to provide modeling and simulation and training services and solutions to FORSCOM units and soldiers preparing to deploy. These services and solutions will be similar to the I Corps Battle Command Training Center and the Maneuver Center of Excellence Battle Lab, which SAIC provided under the predecessor contract, OPTARSS I. SAIC will also provide support services in areas including operational planning, training, modeling and simulation, flight operations, mobilization plans and execution, deployment operations, force protection and transformation. SAIC is one of 35 contractors (13 large and 22 small businesses) that will compete for task orders under the contract.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the U.S. Army Forces Command to provide the DoD with innovative integrated support services and leading-edge technologies that facilitate transformation and help prepare units and soldiers for deployment,” said Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
