India: Southern Naval Command Celebrates 65th Independence Day

Southern  Naval  Command  celebrated  the  65th  Independence Day in the traditional military manner. Vice Admiral KN Sushil, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command reviewed a Ceremonial Parade at the Command Parade Ground, attended by 36 armed and unarmed platoons.

Prior to arriving on Parade, the Admiral paid tributes at the War Memorial, Naval Base. The President’s Colours awarded to Southern Naval Command was also  paraded accompanied by a 50 men Guard. The Southern Naval Command was also in attendance. In his address to the personnel on Parade, Vice Admiral Sushil reminded them of the  sacrifices of the freedom fighters and dwelt upon the idea of nation hood. The Admiral also said that the challenges of terrorism, coastal security and piracy will be dealt with in a resolute manner. The Parade was witnessed by a large gathering of  families of Naval personnel and school children. The Parade was commanded by Commander Paramjit Singh.
