Indian Navy Holds Passing Out Parade

Eleven Officers including four officers fr om the Indian Coast Guard passed out from Naval Institute of Aeronautical  Technology (NIAT), Naval Ba se Kochi on 14 Jan 12. The Passing Out Parade   was reviewed by Su rgeon Rear Admiral Nirma la Kannan , Command Medical Officer of Southern Naval Command.

Deputy Commandant Ra hul Malareddi, was adjudged First in order of merit among Air E ngineers and  Deputy  Commandant Karamjeet Singh, was adjudged First in order of merit among Air Electrical Officers. Lieutenant Om Krishna Patel, was adjudged the Best All Round trainee Officer.  The training at NIAT was conducted in two phases wherein the officers  were initially imparted training on basic aeronautical subjects including Aerodynamics, Aircraft Engineering and Electrical Systems, Aircraft Structures and Advanced Aircraft Technologies.  On completion of the basic phase, the officers were imparted specialized training on two Naval Aircraft. Besides theoretical training on basic subjects, the officers also  undertook various projects on aeronautics.

In her address to the Parade, Surgeon Rear Admiral Niramala Kannan congratulated the passing out course on successful completion  of their specialisatio n training. The Chief Guest also reminded the trainee officers of the responsibility of safe guarding the maritime interest of the nation which can be fu lfilled by professional excellence.

The Officers will now proceed to various  air squadrons of Indian Navy and Indian Coast guard for On-Job-Training (OJT). On comple tion of OJT, the offi cers will be awarded MTech degree in Aeronautics by Cochin University of Science & Technology.
