Baltic Fleet to Receive 3 New Project 90600 Harbor Tugs

 

Auxiliary force of Baltic Fleet (BF) will receive 3 new Project 90600 harbor tugs in the nearest time. The ships are built by JSC Pella Shipyard (St. Petersburg). They successfully completed sea trials late 2011; state acceptance commission signed appropriate certificate. When all needed documents are formed, the tugs will join BF and be stationed in Leningrad and Baltiysk naval bases.

Project 90600 tugs are designed for towing and pushing operations in ports, harbors and littoral areas, as well as for fire extinguishing, oil spill response and etc.

General characteristics of Project 90600 tug:

– length overall – 25.4 meters
– beam overall – 8.8 meters
– hull height – 4.66 meters
– draft – 4.2 meters
– speed – 11.8 knots
– powerplant output – 2 x 1,014 kW

Standard equipment includes bow towing/anchor/mooring winch, stern towing winch, towing hook, deck crane, external firefighting system with pump output of 600 cubic meters per hour (class FF3WS), area radio navigational aids GMSSB A1, 2 x 80 kW diesel generators, centralized conditioning/ventilation/heating system.
