VIDEO: USS Barry Replenishes at Sea

USS Barry Refuels at Sea1

Underway replenishment can be an arduous work, especially since every step has to be planned very well. However, for sailors aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) that came alongside the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195) for refueling, this was just another day on the job.

USS Barry, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is currently on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operations.
In late August 2013 she was ordered, alongside her sister ships USS Gravely (DDG-107), USS Mahan (DDG-72) and USS Ramage (DDG-61) to patrol the eastern Mediterranean Sea in response to possible military intervention in the Syrian civil war.
