Severnaya Verf Holds Keel-Laying for Captain Shevchenko

Severnaya Verf Shipyard, a leading shipbuilding company of the Russian defense industry, held a keel-laying ceremony for the third ship in a series of combat logistics support ships of Project 23120.

 

As PortNews.ru reports, the vessel, ordered by the Russian Defense Ministry, was named “Captain Shevchenko”.

Project 23120 vessels are built for  the North, the Black Sea and Pacific fleets and are designed for loading, storage, transport, delivery of dry cargo, as well as towing, rescue and salvage operations.

CJSC “SpetsSudoProekt”, St. Petersburg based naval architecture and marine engineering firm, developed the series design.
