FGS Lübeck Becomes Part of Operation Atalanta

German Bremen Class Frigate FGS Lübeck joined EU Naval Force Somalia Operation Atalanta on 6 October. She relieved the German Joint Support Ship FGS Berlin following a few days of handover in the port of Djibouti.


FGS Lübeck Becomes Part of Operation Atalanta

The Captain of FGS Lübeck, Commander Peter Christian Semrau, who has been training for the development for several months with his crew, stated:

“After nine months of training and preparation the crew of FGS Lübeck are ready to deliver their valuable contribution to the highly successful EU Naval Force Somalia Operation Atalanta.”

FGS Lübeck will take part in Operation Atalanta until February 2015 when she will be relieved by the German frigate FGS Bayern.
