Authorities

The guided missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103) arrived in the southern French anchorage of Villefranche-sur-Mer for a scheduled port visit, Nov. 1.

The visit serves as a means to enhance Franco-American relations as the two countries work together to ensure a stable, secure, and prosperous Europe.

The Mediterranean port of Villefranche is rich in history and cultural diversity.

Truxtun, homeported in Norfolk, Va., deployed as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
