USNS Carl Brashear Replenishes Makin Island ARG Vessels

US Navy’s amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45) conduct a replenishment-at-sea recently.

The vessels engaged in RAS with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7) in the Andaman Sea.

During the activities, a Military Sealift Command-contracted AS-332 Super Puma helicopter attached to dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7) approaches to hook a load of cargo for delivery to dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45).

Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, along with Comstock, part of the ARG, are on a deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to promote peace and freedom of the seas by providing security and stability in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
