Viktor Lenac Starts Work on USS Mount Whitney

Mechanics from the Viktor Lenac Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia started working on the U.S. 6TH Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20).

The vessel arrived in Rijeka on January 15 for a scheduled shipyard period. The work planned includes overhaul, docking, and renovation.

The USS Mount Whitney is US Navy’s Blue Ridge class command ship and the flagship of the Sixth Fleet. The 43-year-old-ship was built by Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Company, Newport News, Virginia. She is one of the oldest ships in the fleet.
